Amphibian Facts

  Today there are about  5,400 species of amphibians.  
  There are about 2000 species of toads and frogs.  
  All toads are frogs.  
  Many frogs live from 5 to10 years.  
  Some toads and frogs live to be 30 years old.   
  Neither frogs or toad give warts.  
  There is a frog called the reed frog that can change its sex.  
  All amphibians are cold blooded.  
  A frog can change the color of its skin depending on its surroundings.  
  Frogs absorbed water through their skin, so they don't need to drink.  
  Frogs lay as many as 4000 eggs at one time  
  Certain frogs can jump up to 20 times their own body length in a single leap.
